Larchwood, Iowa, eliminated Wessington-Miller 5-1 in a second-round game at the Class B state amateur baseball tournament Tuesday night at Cadwell Park.
Brett Waltner picked up the win for Larchwood with seven strikeouts. Casey Schlecter took the loss for M-W. He struck out seven, but gave up four earned runs on nine hits.
For Larchwood, Chris Underberg went 2-for-4 with a home run and Dennis Simon went 3-for-3.
For M-W, Kaleb Rogers went 2-for-3 and Schlecter went 2-for-4 with a double.
Larchwood moves on to play at 6 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals.

Wynot 6,
Crofton 5
Lee Heimes went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to centerfield to lead Wynot to a 6-5 win over Crofton in the second round of the Class B state amateur baseball tournament Tuesday night at Cadwell Park.
Scott Heine also had two hits with a homer for Wynot, which plays Larchwood in the quarterfinals Thursday.
Joe Keppen picked up the win on the mound, striking out five in six innings of work. Kevin Kunz got the save.
Bill Guenther took the loss for Crofton, which was led by Joe Wiebelhaus with a double.
