SPEARFISH (AP) - The Spearfish School District has built one new school and remodeled another one since 2011. Now board members are discussing the need for another facility.

School district officials say its buildings are near capacity because of several years of growth. The district has 200 more students than it did two years ago.

School district superintendent Dave Peters tells the Black Hills Pioneer that the next step is to find land that is suitable for building a new school.

Peters says the district might have to ask voters to approve a bond issue for the new facility.
