SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- South Dakota is preparing for upcoming severe weather.
This week has been Severe Weather Awareness week, and a statewide tornado drill conducted Wednesday reminded people to think about severe weather before it actually happens.
This season's severe weather is expected to be more active than last year, when only 10 tornadoes were reported.
KELO-TV reports that three main air masses driving severe weather outbreaks are currently in place and will provide the ingredients for more storms in the Plains.
