Sobriety checkpoints are planned in 19 counties in South Dakota during April.
The checkpoints are conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol as a way to discourage people from drinking and then driving.
Area counties with checkpoints within The Daily Republic's coverage region include Brule, Davison and Jerauld.
