A Sioux Falls woman denied claims Tuesday that she violated her probation.

Carla Marie Benton, 35, is accused of violating probation by not maintaining contact with her court services officer and absconding. She was sentenced in October 2012 for passing more than $1,800 in bad checks to grocery stores in Mitchell and Huron.

Benton was released earlier from jail because of her high-risk pregnancy. Assistant Davison County State’s Attorney Bob O’Keefe asked Benton be put on the 24/7 Sobriety program to keep better tabs on her. Judge Tim Bjorkman agreed and scheduled a jury trial for December.
