LAKE ANDES - The Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman who threatened to rob a business with a gun.
On Friday, Heather Lowe, 27, of Sioux Falls, entered the VFW Club in Lake Andes with her hand in her purse, according to Charles Mix County Sheriff Randy Thaler. Lowe then stated she had a gun, Thaler said, and planned to rob the VFW.
She attempted to get into the cash register, police say, but was unable to get it open. She then left the business without any money and no gun was displayed.
She was later found and identified by a Charles Mix County sheriff’s deputy and was arrested for first-degree robbery. At the time of the arrest, no gun was discovered in her possession, police say. Lowe is being held in the Charles Mix County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
No other information is immediately available.
