PIERRE (AP) - Pierre Police Chief Bob Grandpre says shots were fired during a standoff in a mobile home park but all law officers at the scene have been accounted for.
KCCR radio reports that no information has been released on the status of the standoff that began Thursday afternoon and stretched into early Friday. Dozens of law enforcement vehicles were at the scene but only two remained at 4 a.m.
Officers evacuated the mobile home park and a nearby apartment building. Residents were moved to a nearby church where the Red Cross provided assistance.
