The South Dakota Wind Energy Association will hold its 2014 annual meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Technology Center, Mitchell Technical Institute, Mitchell.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $25, which includes lunch. The meeting is open to the public.
Topics that will be presented include:
• Wind developers panel to discuss how to make South Dakota more competitive for future wind development.
• Presentation from the South Dakota Economic Development Office on the current state of wind development in South Dakota.

• Panel discussion with representatives of Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., and Rep. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., about the current status of the Production Tax Credit extension and potential impact of the proposed EPA carbon rules on wind development
Additional presentations will include the Midwest Wind Energy Center Initiative, Basin Electric perspective on what the impact of joining the Southwestern Power Pool could have on wind development, and an update on the DC Clean Line transmission project.
