ABERDEEN (AP) - The suspect in a northeast South Dakota stabbing has been charged with attempted murder.
The Aberdeen American News reports that bond has been set at $400,000 for 22-year-old Jermal Lee. The Aberdeen man also faces charges of aggravated assault and simple assault against a law enforcement officer. Lee hasn't entered pleas.
Police say Lee was found Sunday after officers responded to a home following a report of an assault in progress. Officers found Lee standing over a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.
Police say Lee fled to a bedroom upon the arrival of police and later left the bedroom with the knife lodged in his chest. The woman and Lee were taken to a hospital and both have been released.
Lee has asked for a court-appointed attorney.
