SIOUX FALLS (AP) - The Corporation for National and Community Service says South Dakota ranks seventh in the nation when it comes to volunteering.
The federal entity released a report on Tuesday that said nearly 35 percent of South Dakotans volunteered in 2013. That translates to about 21.5 million hours of service over the course of the year with an estimated financial footprint of about $410 million.
The same study says that about 25 percent of Americans volunteered in 2013.
