MOUNT VERNON-A woman sustained minor injuries in a rollover crash Sunday afternoon.

Elly Miller, 22, of Vermillion, told emergency responders that her 2010 Ford Fusion overturned after she fell asleep while driving north on 397th Avenue, about two miles south of Mount Vernon.

The car went into a ditch, vaulted on a culvert and then rolled after hitting a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, but a dog in Miller's car was killed in the crash.

Miller, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell for her injuries.
