PIERRE (AP) - A Rapid City-based pipe business is expanding into Pierre.

KCCR radio reports that Northwest Pipe Fittings plans to lease a vacant 20,000-square-foot building in Pierre.

Northwest Pipe currently has 20 locations serving plumbing and industrial contractors and customers throughout the Dakotas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana.

Northwest Pipe of Huron President Mary Pearson says the Pierre location will enable the company to better serve many customers they currently serve from a distance.

The business will initially employ three people in Pierre.
