A Mitchell man who was scheduled to stand trial this week for rape pleaded guilty to the charge Friday.
Kristopher Aslesen, 31, changed his plea to guilty of fourth-degree rape, which means the victim was between 13 and 16 years old and Aslesen is more than three years older than the victim.
Aslesen was accused of the crime in March and pleaded not guilty in April.
The trial was supposed to start today with jury selection and was scheduled for three days.
Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a psychosexual evaluation and presentence investigation, and scheduled sentencing for February.
