ABERDEEN (AP) - Aberdeen police have identified a man arrested after a weekend shooting that wounded a woman.

The American News reports that Diego Mendez is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon on charges of aggravated assault and reckless discharge of a firearm.

The shooting happened outdoors in the area of South Main Street about 2 a.m. Saturday. Police said the woman was taken to a hospital with a neck injury that was not life-threatening.
