PIERRE (AP) - A Pierre nursing home is facing a civil lawsuit after a nursing aide took nude photos of a resident and allegedly posted them on social media.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the resident, who has since died, and her estate. It seeks unspecified damages from Golden Living Center.
Center employee Callie Jones pleaded guilty last year to secretly recording the body of a person. The Argus Leader reports that she was sentenced to three days in jail on the misdemeanor.
A spokeswoman for the center's corporate office told KCCR radio that the company conducts background checks on workers but that "there is an element of unpredictability in human behavior."
