Fire engulfed a house Tuesday evening in rural Alexandria.

Firefighters responded around 8:30 p.m. to a fire at 24803 422nd Ave. The house is located on a farm about five miles northeast of Fulton and is owned by Doug Nelson, according to Hanson County Sheriff Randy Bartlett.
