PARKSTON - The Parkston Fire Department spent two hours extinguishing a 20-acre grass fire on Monday afternoon.
According to Parkston Fire Chief Todd Lucas, the department was called out to a grass fire at approximately 1:30 p.m. 10 miles east and a half-mile south of Parkston.
The blaze burned approximately 20 acres of grass. Lucas said the wind was a factor in extinguishing the flames, but no one was injured and no structures were damaged.
