A Mitchell man was cited for not clearing his windshield of frost Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash that caused minor injuries.
Jeffrey Vandeberg, 53, and his 30-year-old passenger were both transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell following the crash that occurred at about 8:41 a.m. near LifeQuest in Mitchell. Vandeberg, who had back and neck injuries, was cited for impaired glass.
According to Mitchell Police Officer Paul Wilson, a 2013 Ford Taurus was pulling into the parking lot at LifeQuest when the driver stopped at the entryway of the lot so another vehicle could clear out of a parking spot.
Vandeberg did not see the Taurus - which held four passengers - due to the unclear windshield, Wilson said. Then the Ranger struck the front-passenger side of the Taurus, which had all of its airbags deploy.
Everyone in the Taurus was wearing a seat belt and no one was injured. Vandeberg estimated to authorities he was traveling 10 mph.

The Mitchell Police Division and Mitchell Fire/EMS responded to the scene, at 804 N. Mentzer St. in Mitchell.
