Deb Olson and Kevin Kenkel will keep their seats on the Mitchell Board of Education without an election this year.
There are two seats on the board up for re-election this year, both of which are three-year terms. Mitchell School District Superintendent Joe Graves said no one else filed a petition by the March 29 deadline, meaning incumbents Olson and Kenkel will retain their seats on the board. That means there will be no school board election on June 7 as originally scheduled.
Olson, the current board president, and Kenkel will be sworn in for their new terms in July during the school board's organizational meeting.
