SIOUX FALLS (AP) - Authorities say a police K-9 officer who was on patrol in Sioux Falls came upon a fight that resulted in a stabbing.

The incident happened Friday afternoon at a central Sioux Falls home. Police say a man outside the home was acting suspiciously and waved off the officer. The suspect then knocked on the door and began fighting with another man who opened the door.

Before breaking up the fight, the officer heard the victim say "He's sticking me. He's sticking me." The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries from a pocket knife.

Authorities do not believe the two men knew each other.
