Norma Jean Simon, 78, Platte, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Platte Health Center, Platte.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Geddes. There will be a private family viewing and committal service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Koehn Brothers Funeral Home, Geddes/Armour.
She was born on April 23, 1930, on a farm east of Armour to Arie and Anna (Pol) Bobeldyke.
She attended country grade school and graduated from Armour High School. She attended college in Springfield.

She spent a year working in Anderson, Ind., and returned to Armour, where she taught country school and grade school in Armour and Geddes.
She married Joe Simon.
After moving to a farm near Geddes, she continued to teach until the Geddes School closed.
After her husband died, she moved her house into Geddes.
She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Nolan and husband, Dan, Lynch, Neb.; and Jackie Bures, Wagner; four grandchildren, her mother, a sister, Dot Morrow and husband, Dewey, Armour; two nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Randy; and her father.
