LAKE ANDES — A Wagner woman was given a suspended 90-day jail sentence March 31 for threatening to hit a man with a hammer.
Leah Waugh, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of simple assault and was ordered not to have contact with the victim for one year.
Wagner police responded on the afternoon of Feb. 16 to a Front Avenue SE residence where a domestic incident had been reported. According to court documents, a child who had been present during the assault told police Waugh and a man had been arguing and Waugh began hitting walls with a hammer.
Waugh was reported to have threatened to hit the man with the hammer if he didn't leave the house, and the victim reported Waugh had thrown the hammer.
Waugh was ordered to pay $311.50 in fines and court costs.
