WAGNER -  Names have been released in the one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening.

James Fischer, 22, of Lake Andes, has been identified as the person who died the crash northwest of Wagner.

A 2002 Nissan Altima was westbound on South Dakota Highway 50 when the driver, Albert Fischer, 25, also Lake Andes, lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled several times and struck several trees, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Both occupants were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle. The deceased, who was the passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene. The driver was transported by ambulance to a Wagner hospital.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate. Other agencies at the scene were the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office, Wagner Police Department, Wagner Fire Department and Wagner Ambulance.
