A 31-year-old Mitchell woman who called 911 reportedly stabbed a man before police would respond to the call.
Twila Hislaw stabbed a 31-year-old man in her apartment in the 600 block of West 15th Avenue at 6:56 a.m. Sunday, according to Mitchell Police Sgt. Mike Koster.
He said she dialed 911 to report trouble but had stabbed the man in the back when police arrived.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital.
No condition report was available, and Koster said he did not know the nature of their relationship.

Koster said knives were seized at the scene but he wasn't sure what weapon was used to stab the man.
Hislaw was charged with aggravated assault and held at the Davison County Jail under a $10,000 cash bond.
