A 19-year-old Mitchell man was sentenced Tuesday to five years of probation and 60 days in jail for drug crimes that also involved his brother and mother.
Derik Nespor, 19, pleaded guilty April 17 to possession with intent to distribute more than 1 ounce but less than one-half pound of marijuana and possession of hydrocodone. In addition to probation and jail time, Nespor was fined $300 for each charge. He was given credit for one day served and was authorized release for work and treatment.
The charges against Nespor stemmed from a search conducted by law enforcement Sept. 14 at a residence located at 1110 S. Kimball St. where Nespor lived with his 17-year-old brother; his mother, Charlene Stahl, 43; and others. Stahl was convicted of aiding and abetting possession with the intent to distribute more than 1 ounce but less than one-half pound of marijuana, and contributing to the abuse, neglect or delinquency of a child after a jury trial last month in Mitchell.
Nespor's brother was not charged in adult court, but according to his testimony during Stahl's trial, did admit in juvenile court to selling marijuana.
