An 18-year-old man will spend two years on probation for a felony drug distribution charge.
Benjamin Roger Amadon, of Mitchell, was put on probation Tuesday after he pleaded guilty April 17 to possession with the intent to distribute 1 ounce or less of marijuana. He was also sentenced to serve 40 days in jail, but given credit for 31 days already served, and fined $300.
As a condition of the probation, Judge Sean O'Brien required Amadon to get his high school diploma within one year of being released from jail.
