Mitchell student earns recognition from Scholastic Art Awards

Devin Blindauer, Mitchell, has been recognized with honorable mention awards from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her paintings "Sweety Goodness" and "Country LIfe."

The University of South Dakota Department of Art will recognize Blindauer and other winners at a ceremony held at 1 p.m. on March 1 in the Knutson Theatre in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on the USD campus in Vermillion.

A reception for the artists will begin at noon in the Center's Gallery 110. Gold Key-winning art will be displayed in the gallery. This is the first year for this regional competition and event in South Dakota and it is sponsored by the Department of Art at USD.
