A Mitchell man pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of a controlled substance.
Jamie Bowen, 34, entered his plea during court at the Davison County Public Safety Center.
He said he had some methamphetamine on him Sept. 11. According to court documents, he was pulled over that day for expired license plates. He acted jittery and would not sit still or stay in the vehicle.
He faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
Judge Tim Bjorkman granted a personal recognizance bond to release Bowen from jail to take care of his child.

Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for December.
