A Mitchell man pleaded guilty last week to two drug distribution charges.
Travene Myers, 32, entered his plea during court at the Davison County Public Safety Center.
The possession of cocaine charge with intent to distribute carries a minimum sentence of one year in prison for second or subsequent offenses, according to state law, and a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both. The possession of cocaine with intent to distribute in a drug-free zone charge carries a minimum sentence of five years, according to state law, and has a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine or both.
In April, Myers was arrested for possessing cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute it in a school zone.
Judge Tim Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for December.
