A Mitchell man was arrested recently for threatening a woman with a knife during a disagreement over a child.

Elliot Star Iron Shell, 41, allegedly got into an argument with the woman on Dec. 16 between 8 and 10 p.m. Star Iron Shell was reportedly trying to take the child from the woman, but she refused to let him due to his level of intoxication.

According to court documents, Star Iron Shell went into the kitchen and got a steak knife, which he waved in front of the woman, threatening her. He later stabbed the knife into the floor.

The woman left the residence and called the police, who then responded to the residence where the alleged assault took place.

Star Iron Shell was arrested and charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a Class 3 felony. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
