Mitchell police arrested a man after finding 14 grams of meth while conducting a search of a house.
On Jan. 18, the Mitchell Police Division executed a search warrant in the 600 block of East Fifth Avenue in Mitchell and found approximately 14 grams of meth, raw marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a bedroom belonging to 53-year-old David Stock.
Stock was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a Class 5 felony; manufacturing, distributing or possessing drugs, a Class 4 felony; and possession of two ounces of marijuana or less, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing police, jailer or firefighter, all misdemeanors.
Class 5 felonies are punishable upon conviction by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and Class 4 felonies are punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
