A 24-year-old man is charged with simple assault after allegedly attacking another person on May 12 at a bar in downtown Mitchell.
Benjamin Aaron Delaney, of Kansas City, Mo., was allegedly kicked out of the Moonlight Bar and Lounge after punching another person in the face. Police allege he then attacked the victim a second time in the 100 block of West Fifth Avenue after leaving the bar.
For allegedly having drugs and paraphernalia at the time of his arrest, Delaney is also charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He faces a maximum of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted of the assault. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
