A Mitchell man was arrested March 21 for allegedly choking a woman.
Julian Alonzo, 44, is charged with one count of aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony.
At 2:07 a.m. on March 21, law enforcement responded to a West Eighth Avenue residence where the woman said Alonzo had strangled her from behind with both hands, making it hard to breathe, according to court documents.
Alonzo was arrested when a witness reportedly confirmed the woman's account and marks and bruises were seen on her neck.
