The Mitchell High School debate team recently placed several members at three competitions in as many weeks.
Chloe Bartunek took second place Oct. 18 in the Novice Dramatic Interpretation category at the Washington Warrior Circle of Courage Oral Interpretation Contest.
Bartunek brought home a Superior Plus rating Oct. 22 in the Novice Dramatic Interpretation category at the Brookings Fall Festival Interpretation Contest. Also performing well at the event were Lauran Douvier, who took home a Excellent Plus rating in the Dramatic Interpretation category, and Emma Trode received an Excellent in Humorous Interpretation.
At the Roosevelt High School Novice Debate Tournament, which was held Nov. 2, Julie Miller and Morgan Klinger went 3-1 in the Public Forum Debate category. Sawyer Shawd also did well, bringing home a 3-1 record in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate category, and Floyd Korzan and Camryn Swanstrom went undefeated in Public Forum Debate.
