Hannah Walters, director of the Mitchell Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been named to the South Dakota Board of Tourism by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
Walters, who succeeds David Sweet, of Sioux Falls, will begin a four-year term on July 1. She will represent the southeastern region of South Dakota.
"Hannah is well-respected by her peers in the visitor industry and she brings a great enthusiasm to everything she does," Gov. Daugaard said. "She has initiated a number of creative new programs and projects at the CVB in Mitchell, and we're looking forward to benefiting from that creativity and energy."
The 11-member Tourism Board is charged with assisting the development of the visitor industry in South Dakota.
