SIOUX FALLS (AP) - Minnehaha County is suing the state for denying a grant to fix a bridge near Brandon.
The Argus Leader reports that the County Commission voted unanimously this week to hire a law firm to handle their appeal.
County Commissioner Jeff Barth says $2.2 million is at stake. He says the county followed all of the conditions needed to get the money, but a last-minute change made by the state Transportation Department disqualified the county from funding.
A department spokeswoman declined comment.
