The Mitchell High School debate team recently competed at the Brooking Bell Tournament and had five team members place in the competition. The tournament was hosted Dec. 18 and 19 by Brookings via online format.
Joe Gebel took second place in international extemporaneous.
Iris Anderson took third place informative speaking.
Autumn Lentz took fourth place in program oral interp. Lentz also brought home the Top Novice Award.
Natalie McCloud took fifth place in program oral interp.
Kennedy Voeltz took sixth place in program oral interp.
The debate team will next compete Jan. 8 at the Rapid City Penguin Classic via Zoom format and Jan. 9 at an online Forensics Conference Tournament.
