Man sought in Wyoming caught near Chamberlain

RAPID CITY - A man wanted for questioning in Wyoming was apprehended Thursday by South Dakota authorities near Chamberlain.

Around 9:45 a.m., a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper near Rapid City spotted a vehicle driven by a man wanted for questioning in relation to a homicide case in Wyoming.

The subject fled, and troopers pursued the vehicle east on Interstate 90. Maximum speed during the pursuit was near 120 mph at times.

Authorities made several attempts to deploy tire-deflation spikes and were successful west of Chamberlain in Lyman County.

The subject was taken into custody without further incident.

He is being held at the Brule County Jail.

His name is being withheld at the request of Wyoming authorities. The Jones and Lyman County sheriff’s offices assisted with the pursuit and apprehension.
