WOOD - The victim of a fatal crash on Monday near Wood has been identified.
Seventy-year-old Kenneth Krogman was traveling near the intersection of 281st Avenue and Strike Road, 11 miles north of Wood, at 2:50 p.m. when the 2001 Dodge Ram pickup he was driving went off the road and into a river basin, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
Krogman, from Wood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other responding agencies were the Mellette County Sheriff’s Office and Mellette County Ambulance.
