LOWER BRULE - A man in Lyman County has been indicted on federal charges of illegally possessing a firearm more than three years ago.
The indictment filed against Myron Walters on April 9 alleges that Walters was previously convicted of a felony and that he was in possession of a Hi-Point C9 9-milimeter pistol on Jan. 16, 2016.
If convicted, Walters would have to forfeit the firearm and any ammunition to the U.S. government.
Walters was arrested in Lower Brule on a warrant on April 18 and was released on a personal recognizance bond on Monday.
