Mae Wieland, Miles City, Mont.

Mae Elizabeth Wieland, 92, Miles City, Mont., formerly of Mitchell, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Holy Rosary Medical Center, Miles City, Mont., following a brief illness.

Mae Elizabeth Wieland, 92, Miles City, Mont., formerly of Mitchell, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Holy Rosary Medical Center, Miles City, Mont., following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mitchell. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Will Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, with an 8 p.m. prayer service.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1916, at Red Lake Falls, Minn., to William and Mamie vonKienast.

In 1928, she moved to Mitchell with her family.

She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1934 and worked for National Life Insurance Company in Mitchell and Sioux Falls for 28 years, at which time she retired.

On June 26, 1949, she married Bob Wieland, of Delmont, in Mitchell.

They lived in Mitchell.

She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where she served on the vestry and other committees.

She was an original board member on the board of the Enchanted World Doll Museum and served for 25 years.

She is survived by a sister, Doris K. Uden, Miles City; six nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, her parents, a sister, Ruby K. Morse; and a brother, William A. vonKienast.
