WATCH: The 'Freedom Convoy' cruised through Mitchell late Thursday night

Supporters gathered in Mitchell, Sioux Falls and along the interstate to see the convoy

MITCHELL — A convoy of trucks traveling across the United States traveled through Mitchell late on Thursday night.

The convoy is part of a larger network of truckers around the country planning to coalesce in the nation’s capital in the next few days.

The convoys are protesting pandemic restrictions, federal vaccine mandates and a variety of other issues ranging from domestic energy production to immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the website of the Great American Patriot Project .

Over the past year, the city has been mulling over bringing a secondary water source to Mitchell – a move Mayor Bob Everson said is aimed at positioning the city to grow.
The officer shot Renee Two Bulls, 22, of Sioux Falls, while he was pinned by her vehicle to a gas pump at Kum & Go station. Two Bulls was later arrested on 14 warrants, including six felony warrants.
At issue was the attendance at a legislative conference in Hawaii last December by Spencer Gosch and Jamie Smith.
