Sub-zero temps, blizzard aftermath cause delayed school start

MITCHELL — Mitchell School District schools and John Paul II Elementary will start two hours late on Friday, Feb. 24.

School district officials made the decision Thursday night following a three-day winter storm that rolled over South Dakota.

Friday is expected to have dangerously cold temperatures early in the morning, while city plow crews will be also be working on north-south roads to get roads cleared.
