MITCHELL -- A local concrete truck driver is OK after the truck he was operating fell into a hole for a basement foundation on Tuesday in Mitchell.
The Mitchell Department of Public Safety said Tuesday that crews from Mitchell Fire and Mitchell Police responded to an 8:52 a.m. call at a construction site at the corner of Doris Court and Quiett Lane. At that site, a caller said a concrete truck tipped over and fell into a basement that was about to be poured, while the truck driver was trapped in the cab.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle before first responders arrived. Mitchell EMS evaluated the driver, who had no apparent injuries and refused further medical treatment.
The driver was not identified in a news release from the Mitchell Department of Public Safety.
