MITCHELL — A fundraiser Friday night in Mitchell brought in dancers, laughs and nearly $54,000.

Dancing for Dreams, organized by LifeQuest, grossed $53,814, according to the event officials. The proceeds will go to benefit 401 Create, LifeQuest's community integration venture on Mitchell's Main Street.

This was the third time the event has been held.

“We continue to be amazed by the community’s support of not only Dancing for Dreams, but LifeQuest as a whole,” said Brian Loken, LifeQuest’s Development Director. “401 Create will use these funds to continue to bring people supported by LifeQuest together with people from the community to make memories and start friendships.”

Included in the participants dancing were Nick and Laura Bakhtiari; Matt and Carrie Culhane; Nick and Hilary Rockwell; Jeff and Ashley Sand; Wade Schoenfelder and Jacey Jira; and Nathan and Audra Sparks.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Mitchell Republic." Often, the "Mitchell Republic" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
