MITCHELL — The city of Mitchell is holding its annual spring cleanup week April 17-21, officials announced.

City workers will be collecting over-sized items set out on the curb on the day that residents' garbage is normally collected.

Items that will not be collected include trees, tree branches, tires, batteries, yard waste and large quantities of construction material.

The fee to collect any accepted curbside items is $10, per city resolution.

During spring cleanup week, city residents will be able to dump pickup-sized loads at the landfill free of charge.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Mitchell Republic." Often, the "Mitchell Republic" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
