Mike Hettinger, of Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell, was elected president of District 2 of the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association.

State officers and district presidents were installed at the SDFDA annual convention held May 11-13 in Sioux Falls.

Hettinger, a funeral director with Bittner Funeral Chapel for 31 years, will serve on the SDFDA executive board as president of District 2 for the 2016-17 association year.

Hettinger is a member of the Mitchell Exchange Club and the Mitchell Rotary Club. He and his wife, Marlene, attend Northridge Baptist Church.
