South Dakota Department of Health officials have expanded the potential exposure window related to the confirmed COVID-19 case at the Lane Cafe last week.

The extended dates of potential exposure now include April 1 to April 6. Previously, it had been reported that the infected employee worked four days at the cafe.

The cafe is located in the community of about 60 residents in Jerauld County. As of Monday, Jerauld County had three confirmed cases of COVID-19. The building doubles as the town's post office.

"Due to the risk of exposure, customers who visited the cafe during those dates should monitor for symptoms for 14 days after the date they visited," a Health Department spokesman said. "A CDC screening tool is available at covid.sd.gov, which can help recommend when to call your medical provider if you develop symptoms."
