LAKE ANDES-A Lake Andes man has been charged with choking a woman during a disagreement over social media.

Ronald Antoine, 35, was arrested April 20 on one count of domestic abuse aggravated assault.

According to court documents, law enforcement was dispatched at about 9 p.m. to a residence on North Seventh Avenue in Lake Andes.

A deputy from the Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office reportedly found a woman crying in the front yard. The woman told him Antoine had choked her and put her in a chokehold position, which somewhat restricted her breathing.

Statements from both Antoine and the woman's son allegedly confirmed the woman's story. Antoine reportedly said that the woman had slapped him, and she said that the slap had occurred more than an hour earlier and at a different location.
