KIMBALL - A Kimball man was arrested after falling asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in the middle of a street.
On Jan. 10, officers responded to a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of Second Street in Kimball. Upon arrival, they found 27-year-old Kyle Koepke in the driver's seat and an open beer in a cup holder, according to court documents.
Koepke failed multiple sobriety tests, and when officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted, grabbing onto his truck's tailgate. An officer deployed his Taser, but it failed, so he tackled Koepke and placed him in handcuffs.
At the time of Koepke's arrest, there was a loaded firearm in the vehicle, as well as a shotgun and a rifle.
Koepke was charged with first-offense driving under the influence, resisting arrest, possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated and having an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, all misdemeanors.
